Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations Focus of Role – The PMO/PM CoE provides the organizational framework and the process/control mechanisms for managing across multiple projects. It is also a sourcing organization providing experienced project managers to complex projects w/in the SC IT. Aspects of the role include: - Flexible to rotation of roles between governance (PMO CoE) and execution (PM CoE) aspects of project management - Dedicated to assessment, academic certification, and continuous improvement of PM capability - Program management responsibility over scope, resources, schedule, and quality for complex SC IT programs - Create a “no surprises” project management culture that encourages honest and expedient appraisal and reporting of project status - To STOP projects from proceeding beyond the current review point pending senior management assessment of business risk - To review selected (by risk assessment) projects at predetermined MGates to ensure compliance to appropriate project management processes are followed - To closely monitor all critical projects, define project management processes, and coach/mentor project managers Roles & Responsibilities - Responsible for program management responsibility over scope, resources, schedule, and quality for complex SC IT programs - Provide governance and management reporting on critical projects - Ensure consistent execution of project management processes - Collaborate with Account Relationship - Manager to identify project risks and define the appropriate level of PMO monitoring - Identify and manage change management issues w/in SC IT Specific Knowledge/Skills - 10+ years of project management experience including complex global projects - In-depth knowledge of the nine PMBOK areas - Strong communication skills - PMI/CMMI/ITIL certified, Black Belt - Master's Certificate in Project Management (preferred)
