Under the Enlistment Act, all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are liable for National Service (NS). Except for first generation PR under the Professional, Technical Skilled Workers Scheme or the Investor Scheme are not required for NS. The spouses under wife sponsorship will be assessed their NS liability once they become SPR, they are required to register for NS. Once they have done online registration, they will be informed of their NS status.
