Research project: Geographical Information Retrieval via Geo-tagging of Web Media Resources
Field of study: multimedia information retrieval, data mining, image content analysis
Responsibilities:
To conduct research in geo-tagging of Web-based media entities such as images and videos to support mobile location search services.
To build a geographical information retrieval system that searches web resources with geographical locality
To develop an annotation scheme that can infer the spatial and geographical knowledge from media documents, by leveraging textual and visual cues
To develop a model to disambiguate the geographical locality vagueness in queries and a retrieval approach that integrates geographical context and semantic contents of web resources
Requirements:
Ph.D in computer science or related area
Research experience in multimedia data mining, image content analysis and pattern recognition
Proficient in C++, Java
Priority will be given to Singaporean citizen or Singapore Permanent Residence (PR)
Salary: S$5k and above depending on qualification and expereince
