Partnership aims to provide integrated digital payment at enabled touch points in Singapore and Malaysia for urban mobility and parking charges with a single card
Singapore and Putrajaya, 9 April 2019 – EZ-Link Pte Ltd (EZ-Link), Singapore’s largest issuer of CEPAS-compliant cards and Touch ‘n Go Sdn. Bhd (Touch ‘n Go), Malaysia’s biggest multi-application e-purse today announced the progress of a joint collaboration to develop a dual currency Combi Card.
A first in Southeast Asia, the Combi Card will securely host both electronic wallets from EZ-Link and Touch ‘n Go. Targeted for launch in quarter four, 2019, the card will first allow users to pay for urban mobility in both countries.
“The EZ-Link and Touch ‘n Go cards have been daily companions of Singaporeans and Malaysians in our respective countries for the past few decades. EZ-Link is excited to partner with Touch ‘n Go to make it possible for our people to conveniently pay for electronic road pricing in Singapore, highway tolls in Malaysia and parking as a start, and shopping and dining in the future with just one card. It will be a milestone in EZ-Link’s efforts to continuously innovate to transform people’s lives with technology,” said Nicholas Lee, CEO of EZ-Link.
“The Touch ‘n Go and EZ-Link cards have been an essential part of everyday touchpoint for both the Malaysian and Singaporean consumers across transit, mobility and retail. The partnership inked with EZ- Link is one of the many ways Touch ‘n Go Sdn. Bhd is innovating to bring the benefits of cashless payments to wider market segments. This synergy between Touch ‘n Go and EZ-Link to create a dual currency cross-border combi card will undoubtedly make daily transactions fuss-free for Malaysian and Singaporean consumers with faster, simpler and more secure payment options,” said Syahrunizam Tan Sri Samsudin, CEO, Touch ‘n Go Sdn.
