Is bulk purchase legal if there is a sole distributor locally??
Hi Uncle,
I'm in trouble as organizing a few friends to do bulk purchase from Korea for a cleaning product. The story is below:
I found this cleaning product, and was very interested in it. But the local retail price is far too high. So I searched through internet and found some Korean supplier is offering at a much lower price. I contacted these supplier and get reply from one of them. He provide me the quotation, and asking me if I'm interested to be a sole distributor in Singapore, as he is looking for one. I explained the situation that I would like to organize some friends to make bulk purchase, for personal use only. And I'm not a registered company. So I'll not be a sole distributor.
Then I posted a thread in a forum and started to collect orders. I just ask ppl who are interested to leave me their email, and I'll contact them to collect payment once the min. order quantity is met.
A few weeks later, someone dropped me an email said that he is the sole distributor of this product in Singapore, and my post on the forum affected their business as I offered a lower price. He said he will sue me for my actions.
My questions are here:
1. Is bulk purchase directly from oversea supplier legal if there is already a local sole distributor?
2. As I'm not aware that there is an existing sole distributor here, do I need to take the responsibility? Or should the Korean supplier instead?
3. If they insist to sue, do I have any chance to win if the case submit to high court?
If i'm going to loss, roughly how much do I have to pay in total?
thanks to reply.

本地已有独家代理商, 但是在未知的情况下,组织从国外团购了同样的产品.
这样需要赔偿给本地代理商吗?
