1. Senior Research Engineer – Microfluidics / Lab on Chip

This position involves the development of a silicon-based microfluidic / Lab-on-chip (LOC) technology for point-of-care diagnostics. The technology will implement a nucleic acid probe assay on an integrated microsystem which can perform nucleic acid purification, nucleic acid amplification via polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and nucleic acid detection, all in an automated fashion
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities will be in microfluidic design, integration and characterization of individual components for nucleic acid extraction, PCR amplification, and detection.
Requirements:
PhD degree in the microfluidics or related field
Hands-on skills in micro-PCR experiments and characterization
Understanding of silicon-based microfabrication, MEMS, and /or microfluidics
Knowledge of LabView and instrumentation
Excellent communication skills and teamwork with strong self-motivation

2. Senior Research Engineer – Biosensors

This position deals with the development of a silicon-based biosensor technology for point-of-care diagnostics. More specifically, the technology targets a silicon-based nanowire biosensor for electronic detection of charged biomolecules such as nucleic acids and proteins
Responsibilities:
The key responsibility will include surface functionalization and experimental characterization of biosensors.
Requirements:
PhD degree in surface chemistry/ physics
Specialized in biosensors for nucleic acids and protein
Experience in surface chemistry protocols
Hands-on skills in device functionalization and characterization
Knowledge of silicon-based microfabrication, MEMS, and/or microfluidics, device physics would be an advantage
Excellent communication skills and teamwork with strong self-motivation

3. Laboratory Director – Microsystems, Modules & Components

The laboratory has diverse research programs in multi-functional System-in-Package technologies; including 3-D (e.g., TSV), wafer level, bio- and physical-MEMS and photonic device packaging. You are expected:

To lead and direct a large team in setting its technology directions, developing its technology roadmap
To manage the resources needed for the effective running of the laboratory to spearhead the group to be one of the top few in the world
To build up a strong intellectual property portfolios in patent and publication
To establish high visibility and reputation for the organization
To establish and support cross-disciplinary projects with other Laboratories and programmes (e.g., BioE, Photonics, Electronics, MEMS)
To co-ordinate and foster collaborative research with industry & academia
To closely work with industry in developing commercial applications of institute's research outcomes. To be responsible for the recruitment and development of the R & D talent
To train postgraduate students with high quality research projects,


Requirements:

A PhD in microelectronics or equivalent discipline with an outstanding record of high quality research and its industrial applications;
A proven capacity to provide leadership; a demonstrated ability to develop and manage research programs in relevant areas;
Interpersonal skills in communication with industry and academics;
Strong planning and execution capabilities;
Industrial experience would be added advantage.

4. Senior Research Engineer - Device Characterization and Modeling for Millimeter Wave/Terahertz IC Design

You will develop enhanced models based on existing standard compact models for advanced SiGe/CMOS devices for applications in millimeter wave/terahertz (more than 100GHz) integrated circuit designs in the following areas:

Compact model parameter extraction
Extended device models development for RFIC design
Devices test structures simulation, design and tapeout
Building millimeter wave/terahertz components (active and passive) library

Requirements:

PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
Sound knowledge in microwave/millimeter wave background
Experienced in test structure development for model development / extraction especially standard CMOS and BJT models
Experience with test and characterization systems such as ICCAP, various measurement instruments and HFSS, SONNET, ADS circuit simulators.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and also in a team environment

5. Senior Research Engineer - Millimeter Wave/Terahertz IC Deign
You will be responsible for research and development of millimeter wave/terahertz (more than 100GHz) & analog integrated circuits and transceiver subsystems for wireless communications.
SiGe/CMOS-based front-end integration circuit simulation and design, such as LNA, Oscillator, modulator/demodulator
Characterization of various circuit blocks, modules
Sub-front end system integration
Requirements:
PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
Knowledge in microwave/millimeter wave circuit design
Knowledge and/or experience in using tools such as ADS, HSPICE and/or Spectre RF tools
2-3 years’ relevant experience preferred
Fresh graduates with strong interest in IC design are also considered
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and also in a team environment

6. Senior RF Systems Engineer

Design and simulate radio communication systems in e-health system design
Generate and document specifications for analog and digital subsystems, including DSP, calibration, and control algorithms.
Verify system and perform simulations using ADS or MATLAB, SIMULINK and C/C++.
Evaluate, measure, and assist in silicon bring-up in the laboratory.
Communicate simulation results, measurement data to Management and design team.

Requirements

Ph.D. in EE or Communication Systems plus 5 years of experience in the design and simulation of RF transceivers and/or linearizers; or, PhD in EE or Communication Systems plus 3 years of experience in the design and simulation of RF transceivers and/or linearizers.
Excellent knowledge of analog/digital signal processing and communication systems theory.
Excellent knowledge of MATLAB, SIMULINK and C/C++.
Strong experience in developing, testing and debugging RF/baseband system prototypes.
Familiarity with analog and RF test equipment including RF signal sources, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, VSA, etc.
Strong technical analysis, interpretation, and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with analog/RF IC design; ability to generate specifications for analog/digital designers.
Good communication and technical reporting skills, both written and oral.
