新加坡南洋理工大学招收有机化学,高分子及材料科学博士后及博士生
1. Postdoc Position Available in the area of Carbon Nanotube Composites in the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering
At Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)
Research Topic:
Carbon nanotubes are thought to be high strength high stiffness materials that can significantly improve the mechanical properties of composites. We are working on functionalization of carbon nanotubes to improve the mechanical properties of the resulting composites.
Job description: Functionalization of carbon nanotubes to improve mechanical properties of composites
Requirements: PhD in Polymers or Materials Science; publication track records
2. Postdoc Position Available in the area of Conductive Polymers in the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering
At Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)
Research Topic:
Conductive polymers are attractive as semiconducting materials for field effect transistors. However, their mobility remains low for practical applications. We attempt to improve their performance with hybrid of conductive polymers and carbon nanotubes.
Job description: We are making hybrid of carbon nanotubes and conductive polymers to make better transistors.
Requirements: PhD in Polymers or Materials Science; experience in synthesis of conductive polymers. Publication track records.
3.Post Doctoral / Research Staff in the area of organic chemistry
in the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering
At Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)
Research Topic:
Single-walled carbon nanotubes are attractive as semiconducting materials for field effect transistors. However, their practical application as semiconducting material is plagued by the heterogeneity of the nanotubes.
Job description: We are designing and synthesizing chemical compounds that can
select carbon nanotubes based on metallicity.
Requirements: MSc /PHD in Organic Synthesis. Good academic results for MSc
applicants who are interested in PHD studies. For postdoctoral fellow, good
publication track record is required.
Professor Mary Chan-Park
Dr Chan-Park did her PhD in polymers in MIT in 1993. She then did her postdoctoral fellow under the sponsorship of Dow Corning (USA). She worked for 10 years in industries in various technical management positions in USA and Singapore. She was a senior technical manager in Sipix Imaging (CA, USA) from 1999-2001. She then joined the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as Associate Professor in 2001. She is currently also Associate Chair of the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering in NTU.
Dr Chan-Park has a vibrant research group with 7 postdoctoral fellows and 9 PhD/Masters. Her current interests are in Printed Carbon Nanotubes Electronics. She has published more than 95 peered review papers (in Advanced Functional Materials, Small, Chem Mat, Langmuir, Macromolecules, Applied Physics Letters, Nanotechnology, etc). She has also got 15 patents and several patent applications.
