If it is a wedding dinner, the number for a red packet is about at least s$100 per person. If it is in a very expensive hotel and if both you and your partner are invited. S$300.00 would be thoughtful and not excessive.
If it is a wedding cum tea reception, a gift or voucher in lieu of a red packet is acceptable.
