Dear Uncle Chung, please help to take a look at my situation

Hi Uncle Chung,

I'm staying at a condo with mechanical car park (the type that automatically stores and retrieves your car). It broke down one day, and left a taint on my car which was caused by liquid leakage from the aircon system in the car park. It cost me a few hundred dollars to remove the car taint. I have the photos taken and the receipt for car taint removal service.

Here is the situation. I went to the property management company sometime in mid November last year (which was right after the incident) to claim the damage, they pushed me to the insurance company. The contact given to me was a so-called Adjustor, i.e. some kind of intermediary who performs assessment on behalf of the insurance company. I started to follow up with the Adjustor since late November last year.

I kept following up every other week, but the only answer I got from the Adjustor is "we are looking into this" without further details. Four months have passed, and I'm still getting the same "we are looking into this" response. Recently, the person at the Adjustor even stopped responding to my emails. He picked up my call once and told me he was in reservist so not convenient to talk, and never ever picked up my call again (nor did he respond to my SMS).

I have the sense that they are avoiding me, because I have never heard any insurance assessment could take as long as four months. This is a simple car taint assessment anyway. I am also very tired of this shift of responsibility and kicking the balls around between property management company and the insurance company. Frankly speaking, the monetary damage is not that great and I could jolly well absorb it. However, this matter has gone beyond monetary damage, and it's about justice, responsibility, and what is the right thing to do. I firmly believe what I'm experiencing is not how things are supposed to be operated in Singapore.

Hence, I am writing this long email to seek your advice on what kind of legal actions I can take here, or any other course of actions that may be deemed fit in my situation?

Thanks very much for your attention, and I would appreciate it very much if you could provide some advice.

Cheers
