Dear ALL,
The Usability Professional's association (UPA) has announced the theme for World Usability Day 2007 is Healthcare. World Usability Day was founded to ensure that the services and products important to life are easier to access and simpler to use. More than 40,000 people in 175 cities in 35 countries participated in World Usability Day 2006. Please join us to celebrate the world usability day, to connect yourself with the global World Usability Day Community.
As part of the world usability day celebration, UPA Singapore sincerely invites you to participate in the user-centered design competition. The competition will emphasize both product design and the methods used to specify and achieve the design. Emphasis will be placed on innovative and user-centered approaches to Human Factors and Industrial Design. Consideration is limited to products, software or systems that are purchased for use in the home, in the workplace, or while mobile. They include consumer, commercial, and medical products, but exclude military equipment or systems. The product or system being nominated must be operational and capable of being marketed with no more than minimal changes. The products or system should be relevant with Healthcare, which is theme of the world usability day 2007.
The deadline for registration is Oct 26th, 2007. Please send email to

The deadline for submitting nominations for UPA Singapore User-Entered Product Design Award 2007 is November 4, 2007. Nominations should be submitted electronically to Yuanfu Qiu at
[email protected].
Judges' evaluations will be based on the submission they receive and the presentation during 7:00 pm-9:30pm, November 9, 2007 (might be rescheduled). Statements about a product's quality should be substantiated by documenting results or clear rationale that explain the how and why.
The winning product/system will be recognized by UPA Singapore and will be announced to UPA worldwide. Please read the attached file for detail information.
