A message from Pacific Rim Campus Recruitment: (ML)

Boston Career Forum (BCF)

The BCF is one of the biggest annual recruiting events targeting students to work in Japan . This year it was held in Boston from November 9 -11 and approximately 5000 students participated in the event that had 200 companies attend over the three days. ML had eight divisions including IBK, FICC, Equity, Research, CFO, Operations, Technology and LTM participate from the Tokyo office. In addition, Singapore Operation and Technology also participated in the event this year. Of the 620 students that visited the ML booth, we interviewed approximately 300 students and made 40 Full-Time and Summer offers with the acceptance rate at around 70%. As the event expands next year to include more hiring locations, we hope to take a Pacific Rim team to participate.

CFO, GMIS and Technology Open House

Over 60 students from Chinese University , Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and University of Hong Kong attended the CFO, GMIS and Technology event on November 28 at the Hong Kong office. Presentations introducing the three divisions were then followed by a networking session where these Full-Time and Summer candidates had the opportunity to meet more business representatives and further ask questions.

China Scholarship

Ten recipients of the ML Scholarship at each of the top four Chinese universities, Fudan, Peking , Shanghai Jiaotong and Tsinghua have been selected for this year. ML representatives were on campus from December 5 - 6 to attend the award ceremony and also took the opportunity to present GMI & Research summer internship opportunities to penultimate year students.

Operations and Technology Assessment Superdays

Approximately 60 candidates will have attended the Assessment Superdays on December 8 and 15 in Singapore . As part of the assessment, they will have participated in group and individual exercises as well as interviews. Full-Time offers will be extended to successful candidates before the end of the month.

Non-Program Referral Guidelines

Students who do not meet the criteria for the summer program are categorized as non-program referrals. Guidelines for these non-program referrals such as the process and contact person will be announced in the next newsletter.
