Senior Developer – Cash Equities, Macquarie Securities Group - Singapore (Perm)

Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) encompasses Macquarie's institutional stockbroking, equity derivatives and equity finance activities. MSG utilises its skills in research and risk management to develop equity-based financial solutions and services for clients globally. The Macquarie Securities IT Division operates as a core part of the business and is considered to be part of the front line, developing and supporting leading technology platforms which are critical to the Group's success. The division is co-located with the business in a fast paced and changing environment. We are currently looking for an experienced Team Lead/Architect to join the Cash Equities team in Singapore

Working as part of the Singapore Cash Equities team, you will be responsible for the day to day team management and overall solution design for the global Settlements platform. This will encompass a mix of project deliverables, engaging with with a variety of business and IT stakeholders and working as a key member of the development team to ensure high quality and successful project outcomes. You will work closely with the business, lead the delivery team and drive the architecture and systems design for a global platform supporting a fast growing business.

Ideally you will have:

- Significant experience in software development within the financial markets, with prior team leadership experience

- Strong architecture and design skills; demonstrated experience in both specifying and delivering innovative solutions that can be relied upon by a global user base

- Good understanding of cash equities (or other asset classes)

- Experience mentoring and coaching team members on design patterns and technologies

- Strong development skill on Object oriented software development using Java, C# or C++ and usage of application frameworks such as Spring, GWT and test frameworks such as JUnit , UNIX/LINUX and Shell scripting experience

- Experience with continuous integration tools

- Familiarity with Oracle and strong SQL skills

- Excellent problem solving and communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders ranging from senior managers through to other development teams

- The flexibility to work in an environment with changing priorities

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in information systems, computer science, engineering or equivalent

- A strong sense of ownership with a passion for software development and delivering quality software that meets the needs of a fast growing business

- Knowledge of SYN application will be an added advantage
