The SIMTech/ECE Joint Lab on Precision Mechatronics would like to recruit one research officer, doing research on Roll-to-roll web handling machine tension and velocity control. This research position also supports him to pursue on-job PhD research upto 5 years. (1) Bachelor / Master Degree holder with major on Control, automation, or mechatronics with GPA > 3.2/4 or equivalent (4/5) from universities with reputation.
(2) Knowledge on automatic control, system modeling and identification, industrial controllers.
(3) Fundamental Knowledge of elastic web tension and speed control will be in advantage.
(4) Familiar with at least two (2) of the following skills: Visual C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW/LabWindows/CVI, VHDL/Verilog programming.
(5) Scientific publications and related project execution experiences will be preferred.
(6) Be fluent to use English as the working language. To apply the PhD program in NUS, GRE is compulsory for all applicants who are applying from outside Singapore, while TOEFL is compulsory for applicants whose native tongue or medium of undergraduate instruction is not English.
